ALBUQUERQUE, NM--With babies that are furry, feathered or four-legged, zoo moms are being honored this Sunday along with human mothers at the ABQ BioPark Zoo's 41st Annual Mother's Day Concert. The long tradition continues on Sunday, May 11 with activities starting at 10 a.m. and a performance by the New Mexico Philharmonic at 2 p.m. All activities are included with regular admission.

The day will also feature hands-on "Zoo Mom" discovery stations from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and the World Animal Encounters Show at 11 a.m. Between noon and 1:45 p.m., zoo guests can also enjoy the lively music of JeeZ LaWeeZ and toe-tapping tunes from Jazz a la Carte.

"Mother's Day at the Zoo has become a tradition for many families, and we're glad to help celebrate all the amazing moms in our community," said Maryann Torrez, Events Manager. "We love being a safe and fun place for families to play and learn together."

The talented musicians of the New Mexico Philharmonic will be led by conductor Stuart Chafetz. The one-hour program will feature orchestral favorites by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, Bernstein, Gershwin, and many more.

The Mother's Day concert is sponsored by 100.3 the Peak, 2 KASA Fox and New Mexico's CW. Lawn seating is available, and a variety of food and drink will be available for purchase. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, picnics and lawn chairs. No glass containers or alcohol of any kind may be brought into the park by visitors.

A free park-and-ride service will be provided from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Park in the Aquarium/Botanic Garden lot at Central and New York to access this service.
