Emily Howard comes to Visit ABQ with more than 20 years of marketing experience, along with a background of working with some of the biggest brands in the nation 

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – (Jan. 25, 2018)Visit Albuquerque announces the hiring of Emily Howard as the organization’s new Vice President of Marketing, Communications & Tourism.

Howard oversees the Marketing, Communications & Tourism division, which is responsible for stimulating economic growth by marketing Albuquerque as a visitor and convention destination. In her role, she directs and manages all brand, marketing and communications strategies to drive the city’s performance as a premier leisure, meeting, convention and sports destination.

“Emily’s wealth of experience, her strategy skills, and her leadership approach position us to achieve even greater success for Albuquerque,” said Visit Albuquerque President & CEO Tania Armenta. “We were fortunate to work with her for many years when she was with our marketing agency, and we honed a very successful partnership. We simply couldn’t be happier about reuniting this winning combination.”

“I am thrilled to be a part of the Visit Albuquerque team,” said Howard. “My primary goals are to build on the recent positive momentum currently taking place in our great city, and continue to drive tourism revenue into Albuquerque’s economy.”

A marketing strategist since 1997, Howard honed her strategic planning skills at some of the country’s top marketing firms, including imc2, DDB Worldwide, McKee Wallwork & Company and Esparza. At these agencies, she was responsible for developing and guiding the successful implementation of brand, marketing and advertising strategies for a diverse client base including: Campbell’s Soup, American Airlines, Pepsi, Bloomberg, OppenheimerFunds, Merck, and—Visit Albuquerque.

Howard is a native of Albuquerque and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from The Neeley School at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. She is currently a member of the Quality New Mexico board of directors and formerly served as a board member for The Storehouse Food Pantry and Fathers Building Futures, and is a graduate of the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce’s 2014/2015 Leadership Albuquerque program. She is also a sports fan, athlete and proud mom of two girls.
