The new, modern VisitAlbuquerque.org reflects refreshed brand; is mobile-responsive and more user-friendly

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – (Dec. 13, 2017) – The official Visit Albuquerque website has long been the source of inspiration for those looking to visit the city, and has served the needs of travelers, meeting planners, conference attendees, and locals, as well as being known as a comprehensive resource for all-things Albuquerque. Now, those familiar with VisitAlbuquerque.org will notice quite a difference when perusing its webpages.

As the first complete redesign of the site since 2011, the new VisitABQ.org—launched today—is reflective of the refreshed Visit Albuquerque brand and is a massive step forward for the modernization of our marketing tools. The site is responsive across desktop, tablet and mobile platforms and features a user-friendly setup, where one can easily find things to do, business information (the site also offers advertising opportunities for local businesses) and a comprehensive events calendar. Furthermore, the content changes dynamically based upon the user’s location, allowing for landing pages, content pages, and even the homepage to change based upon where the user is geographically located.

Additional features of the new site include:

  • Trip Planner, which allows users to build their own adventure and share it with a unique URL
  • Interactive map
    • Included within partner business listings as well as event listings
  • Dedicated content for several markets, including meeting planners, media, group tour operators and sporting events with the new Albuquerque Sports Commission page
  • Coupons and hotel packages
  • Integrated booking engine
    • Visitors can book their stay directly from the website
  • User-generated content

“As the top resource for those looking to visit Albuquerque, we wanted our website to reflect our current brand, as well as take on a modern look and feel and become more user-friendly,” said Tania Armenta, President & CEO of Visit Albuquerque. “We are extremely proud of this new launch, and know that the tools and content found within VisitAlbuquerque.org’s redesigned pages will continue to inspire visitation to Albuquerque for years to come.”

VisitAlbuquerque.org is top-ranked by Google, and is among the top search results that appear for those searching for relevant keywords. The website sees nearly 2 million unique visitors each year, and 80 percent of its visitors are located outside of Albuquerque, with traffic coming in from around the globe, particularly Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and Spain.

Visit Albuquerque worked with Simpleview, Inc.—a web partner trusted by Destination Marketing Organizations for web solutions—on the redesign of its website. Simpleview has worked with several destinations, including Napa Valley, CA; Norway; Grand Rapids, MI; Anchorage, AK; and NewMexico.org—the design of which earned a Gold Adrian Award from Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI). Visit Albuquerque’s agency-of-record, McKee Wallwork + Co., was also an integral partner in the rebranding of the site.
