ALBUQUERQUE – The Visit Albuquerque (Visit Albuquerque) is pleased to announce its Board of Directors for the 2010-2011 fiscal year. The new board was elected at the 2010 Visit Albuquerque Annual Luncheon.

Chairing the new Board of Directors is Mark Gundlach, general manager of the Albuquerque Embassy Suites Hotel & Spa. He has been praised by the business community for his development of team members, commitment to cultural enhancement, dedication to serve and passion for hospitality.

Gundlach has served on the Board of Directors since 2007, and currently serves as Vice President of the Greater Albuquerque Innkeepers’ Association, while also working with the New Mexico Golf & Tourism Alliance and the NMSU Hospitality Advisory Council. Gundlach also chaired the New Mexico Lodging Association for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.

In addition, Gundlach was re-elected to serve on the board in the area of Accommodations, and will be joined by:

General Business:

Regina Chavez is the Executive Director of Creative Albuquerque, and has managed her own consultancy firm, Cultural Econ, since 2007. She brings with her an emphasis on the region’s unique artistic heritage.

Julia Miera is the Vice President of Sales at Clear Channel Outdoor, and has lived in Albuquerque for 22 years. Having spent 15 years working in the retail industry, she has a firm grasp of the impact of the tourism industry on the local economy.

Hospitality/Non-Accommodations:

George Trujeque is the Director of Golf Courses at UNM’s Championship Golf Course. He is a native New Mexican and has held his position as Director of Golf since 2001. He is also an experienced board member, having served since 2007.

Laura Kesselman is the owner of Kesselman-Jones, Inc., a company she founded when she moved to Albuquerque from Los Angeles in 1992. Since then, the company has won several industry awards. Previously, she has served as an Visit Albuquerque Ambassador for her experience in event management and convention services.

Accommodations

Steve Hiatt, co-owner of Bottger Mansion of Old Town, has operated his bed-and-breakfast inn since 2004 with his wife. Prior to opening the inn, he worked for over 20 years in the technology and software industry. He has served on the board since 2007.
