Albuquerque, NM- While New Mexico celebrates 100 years of statehood, the Savor Albuquerque festival recognizes Albuquerque's arts, culture and cuisine. The 10-day festival, which will culminate with the Centennial Summerfest, includes dance performances, food festivals, art exhibition and creative musicals and plays. Some of the event highlights include:
- The 25th Annual Flamenco Festival International de Albuquerque is a vibrant dance festival which will showcase over 20 workshops and seven dance performances by world renowned flamenco dancers.
- Savor Fine Food Festival is sure to cater to all foodies. Local Albuquerque restaurants will be showcasing their best culinary concoctions throughout the 10-day event.
- Route 66 Arts Crawl will have something for everyone to enjoy. Albuquerque galleries will participate in the Arts Crawl, allowing visitors to experience the creative works of local artists.
- Albuquerque Little Theater presents “Singin’ in the Rain” will provide visitors with a whimsical experience by enjoying the performances by some of Albuquerque’s best local talent.

The Centennial Summerfest: June 16, 2012
To wrap up the Savor Albuquerque festivities, the Centennial Summerfest on June 16th will feature different performances, pavilions, food vendors and art exhibitions that display the strong history and culture that Albuquerque possesses. Stroll among the five pavilions along Downtown Albuquerque’s historic Route 66 where you will find these unique themes:
- The Hispanic Heritage Stage features flamenco, mariachis, folk dance and authentic New Mexican music from artists such as Albuquerque’s own Al Hurricane, Jr. and Grammy winning performers Los Lobos.
- The Native American Stage will be located adjacent to Albuquerque’s iconic KiMo Theatre and will have traditional and modern Native American music, food and arts and crafts.
- The World Stage will showcase the cultured music and dance from groups that have traveled all across the globe to reside in New Mexico. Enjoy the exotic music from groups such as Son Como Son and Wagogo.
- The Route 66 Rock and Rockabilly Stage and Car Show will pay a tribute to the “Mother Road” by taking things back to a time of rock and roll, Elvis, poodle skirts and classic cars.
- The Territorial Village will let visitors get a glimpse of New Mexico’s frontier days. Sample authentic Dutch-oven prepared food at the old time Chuck Wagons while being entertained by live country music. Wild West cowboys may even make an appearance.
