ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The ninth annual Gildan New Mexico Bowl is slated for Saturday, Dec. 20 and will kick off at 12:20 p.m. MT (2:20 p.m. ET), announced ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN. The game, played at University Stadium in Albuquerque, will be seen nationally on ESPN.
"It's great to announce that we will once again play on the first Saturday afternoon of bowl season," said Jeff Siembieda, Gildan New Mexico Bowl Executive Director. "Saturday afternoon, along with some classic football games, has become the Gildan New Mexico Bowl's identity and we look forward to continuing that."

The 2014 Gildan New Mexico Bowl is scheduled to feature teams from the Mountain West Conference and Conference USA. The leagues were pitted against each other in the 2010 game in Albuquerque when the MW's BYU Cougars beat C-USA's UTEP Miners, 52-24.

Last year's college football postseason kicked off in Albuquerque for the fifth consecutive year. It was déjà vu for the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, which witnessed one of the best and most exciting comeback games of the bowl season. The MW's Colorado State Rams trailed by 22 points (35-13) before coming back to beat the Pac-12's Washington State Cougars, in a 48-45 thriller.
Tickets for the Gildan New Mexico Bowl range from $25-$40 and are available at the UNM ticket office and at www.gildannewmexicobowl.com.

The Gildan New Mexico Bowl is one of 11 bowls owned and operated by ESPN Events.
