New Mexico Sports Authority Joins T-Birds
for First-Ever Fan Fiesta

When the Tulsa 66ers travel to the Santa Ana Star Center March 18, 2011 to take on the New Mexico Thunderbirds, they’ll face more than their NBA D-League Central foes.

The New Mexico Sports Authority, a program of the New Mexico Tourism Department, is joining with the state’s tourism industry and the New Mexico Thunderbirds to host the first ever “T-Birds Fan Fiesta.” Co-sponsors include Proview Networks and 101.7 The Team.

“The Sports Authority and New Mexico Thunderbirds look forward to introducing many new fans to the wonderful entertainment value that professional basketball provides in our state,” said Sam Bregman, team owner along with Jackie Bregman of the New Mexico Thunderbirds.

Tip off is 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices start at $8. Call 505-265-3865 today to reserve your tickets and get the chance to see New Mexico’s own Thunderbirds in action. The first 500 fans in the door will receive a T-Birds Window Cling decal. The Thunderbirds team will remain on court after the game for an autograph and fan photo session to meet and greet fans, and children will be able to take the court for a post-game lay-up line.

“The New Mexico Thunderbirds help keep New Mexico on the sports enthusiast’s map,” said Noah Trujillo, director of the Sports Authority program. “New Mexico offers a perfect venue for national and international sporting events, from basketball and cycling to boxing, skiing and soccer. The community support of the Thunderbirds is important in proving the economic viability of New Mexico in the sporting world.”
