“Savor Albuquerque” is a celebration of arts, culture and creativity, designed to showcase the breadth of Albuquerque’s incredible artistic and cultural resources over 10 days. Partnering with many of Albuquerque’s cultural institutions, the festival presents our city’s astounding art and artists to the broadest possible audience. The schedule includes presentations in music, theater, dance, comedy, literature, humanities, film, multimedia, visual and culinary arts. Though individually distinctive, the events are united by a common theme.
The festival’s objective is to provide all who attend – from local residents to out-of-town visitors – with a uniquely Albuquerque experience, centered on the very best of our arts and cultural assets. Additionally, “Savor Albuquerque” provides an avenue for emerging arts organizations to be part of the marketing efforts and potentially reach a new audience.
Festival highlights include the Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque, the 4th Annual Duke City Improv Festival, “Arte Es Vida/Art Is Life” at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, “Reptilian Lounge” at the Box Theatre, Summerfest on Central Avenue, “Triple Espresso” at the KiMo Theatre, and “The Seven” at the Cell Theatre.
The festival will be promoted regionally through the marketing efforts of the Visit Albuquerque including hotel packages and special incentives to encourage visitors to plan their trip between June 4th -13th. Creative Albuquerque and Downtown Action Team will sponsor local marketing and advertising, using the festival platform as an opportunity not only to showcase the best of Albuquerque's arts and culture, but also to recognize the creative sector as a valuable economic development catalyst.
The festival is presented through cooperative efforts between the Downtown Action Team, Creative Albuquerque, City of Albuquerque, Visit Albuquerque, members of the Albuquerque Arts & Culture District, and a multitude of our community’s arts and cultural organizations.
Thank you to Wells Fargo and Mercedes Benz of Albuquerque for their support of arts and culture through sponsorship of “Savor Albuquerque.”
