ALBUQUERQUEThe National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) is proud to announce the fifth annual “Women & Creativity,” a month-long celebration of women and the arts beginning this March at various locations in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.  This year’s program, sponsored by Mark Pardo Salons, celebrates the achievements and accomplishments of women through a diverse mix of workshops, exhibits, concerts, lectures and theatrical performances.  This year 30 organizations, artists, writers, and independent business owners are partnering to offer exciting and engaging programs and activities.  Although the focus is on women’s creativity and expression men are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate in these events.

Some organizations participating in this year’s celebration include National Hispanic Cultural Center, 516 Arts, Outpost Performance Space, Littleglobe, Inc., Explora, Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, SCA Contemporary Art, UNM Women’s Resource Center and Keshet Dance Co.  For a complete listing of participating organizations and a program guide, visit www.nhccnm.org or call the NHCC.  Dr. Shelle Sánchez, NHCC Education Director states, “Creativity, art and self-expression are central to sustaining healthy individuals, families and communities – this month of events, classes and performances provides a window into the creativity that resides in our community year-round.”

The NHCC, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Hispanic art and culture at the local, state, national, and international levels.
