New Artists, New Rooms, New Murals, New Café & Bar & A New Portal To The Multiverse!

SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO February 15, 2017: Renowned arts and entertainment group Meow Wolf has announced completion of a major series of upgrades to its internationally-celebrated House Of Eternal Return. Notable upgrades include new rooms by new artists including L.A.-based Cakeland creator Scott Hove, the new Float Café & Bar featuring authentic Cajun cuisine from Meow Wolf’s successful and expanding Trinity Kitchen, and a new secret portal into the multiverse. All of the new art ties into the fictional narrative of the Selig family, whose mysterious story transpires inside the full scale Victorian home.

“We had a lot of fun and a tremendous response around last year’s upgrades,” said Meow Wolf CEO Vince Kadlubek. “After such an awesome 2017, and January’s announcements on new permanent installations in Denver and Las Vegas, naturally we wanted to go all out and make some big new art inside the Santa Fe exhibition. We also wanted to add some special amenities to the immersive experience for our guests. We really missed being with visitors these last two weeks and we’re ecstatic to be open again with so many new things for people of all ages to see and do.”

Some of the new highlights include:

  • New “Lumpy Charms” installation in the lobby near the new Float Café & Bar
  • New Light Sculpture by Adam Belt in the lobby, a gift from the Thoma Foundation
  • New murals by artists Bill Dambrova, Tim Jag, Diego Mireles and Dave Weirdly
  • New installations in the Glowquarium, Caves, Glitch Beach, and Silver Alley
  • New “Light Boxes” installation by Betsy Braly
  • New “Cake Room” by Scott Hove of “Cakeland” fame
  • New secret portal “Timeworm” by Justin Di Ianni
  • Extra room detailing in Nico Salazar’s Hidden Capsule, Nick Toll’s Busy Box, Dylan Pommer’s Black & White 1920’s Cartoon Room, Doseone’s Wilderness and more

In the aftermath of half a million visitors in 2017, the entire facility has received deep cleaning and TLC from over 100 Meow Wolf artists, curators, docents and more. The conclusion of this labor of love also brings a slate of new music shows and will soon be followed by announcements regarding new programming in the David Loughridge Learning Center.

Next month Meow Wolf has two world premieres at South By Southwest: the “Meow Wolf: Origin Story” documentary and the group’s first venture into virtual reality: “The Atrium,” an Official Selection that takes the House Of Eternal Return narrative into a new dimension of experiential immersion.

Later, from March 29 to April 1, Meow Wolf will host the first annual Score Wars retro arcade gaming contest, a Galaga World Championship that will fly top qualifiers to Santa Fe to face the world record holders in both Tournament and Marathon mode. The event will be live at House Of Eternal Return and live-streamed on Twitch.
