The Albuquerque Art Business Association is proud to present the 2nd Annual Local Treasures celebration of the visual arts in Albuquerque. Festivities include two Artscrawl events, an honors reception at the Albuquerque Museum, special gallery events honoring the artists throughout the month and concludes with GO! Downtown Arts Festival and Globalquerque 2009. The calendar of special gallery events is still evolving and is posted to www.ArtscrawlABQ.org as available.
Local artists being honored are Nora de Aragon (pastels in the classic tradition), John G. Garrett (sculpture and wall hangings), Russell Hamilton (landscape paintings and prints), Steve Hanks (figurative work in watercolor), Angus Macpherson (skyscapes in acrylic), Santiago Perez (fantasy paintings and installations), Andrew Rodriguez (sculpture and bas relief), Peter White (musical instruments), and Susan Zimmerman (abstract mixed media).
