Individual events are open to the public on a space available basis. Tickets may be purchased at the NFA registration desk during the conference. Daytime events are $15, students $10. Evening concerts including a day pass are $25, students $20.

9:00 am- Mind, Body and Music: A Panel Discussion on Alexander Technique, Body Mapping, Feldenkrais, Qi Gong, Yoga and Dalacroze.
10:30 am- Music in the Military - Panel discussion of life in a military band.
11:30 am- The Native American Flute - R. Carlos Nakai and Kathleen Joyce-Grendahl discuss the cultural and musical history and evolution of the Native American flute.
10:15 pm, Ballroom C- Jose Valentino Ruiz - sizzling Latin jazz in a cabaret performance.
Friday, August 10th

2:30 pm- Trevor Wye will provide a world wide tour with this Tour De Force - 48 Variations on the Carnival of Venice for 58 Flutes and Piano.
8 pm, Kiva Auditorium - Classical Music Concert with Denis Bouriakov (Russian), Lorna McGhee (Scottish), Gro Sandvik (Norwegian) and Americans Philip Dikeman (Detroit Symphony), Bart Feller (NY City Opera Orchestra), Christina Jennings, (faculty U of Colorado at Boulder), Tara Helen O'Connor (Faculty, Bard College Conservatory), and composer, pianist and flute soloist Gary Schocker.
10:15 pm, Ballroom C- Huascar Barradas - Venezuelan virtuoso, will join his band for a Cabaret of Latin Jazz.
Saturday, August 11th
10:30 am - Music from Other Worlds - Music with African/American, Chinese, Japanese, Venezuelan, French and Bosnian roots.
Noon - Intro to Venezuelan Music with Huascar Barradas.
1:00 pm - Ukrainian Flutes and Music with Andrei Pidkivka - Uses instruments to tell the stories, traditions and songs of Ukranian culture.
8:00 pm, Kiva Auditorium - The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, with Guillermo Figueora conducting, will perform on the Concerto Concert Saturday. The concert features flutists Bonita Boyd (Eastman Professor), Mary Kay Fink (Cleveland Orchestra) Gaspar Hoyos (Columbian flutist and author and European performer), Paula Robison (American virtuoso and New England Conservatory faculty member) and Australian/American flutist John Wion, Professor at The Hartt School of Music and former Principal Flutist of the New York City Opera, who will be awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award during the convention.
10:15 pm, Ballroom C - Ali Ryerson - Jazz flutist will lead an all-star 25 piece Jazz flute big band.
Sunday, August 12th

11:00 am- Klezmer Flute with Adrianne Greenbaum - music and dance
11:30 am- Suzanne Teng will perform a World Flute Journey with flutes and percussion from five continents.
1:00 pm- Ali Ryerson, jazz flutist performs with piano, bass and drums, in music by Chick Corea, Bruno Martino, Guy Wood and Joe Henderson.
1:30 pm- Jazz flutist Holly Hoffmann with piano, bass and drums in music by Romberg, Einar Swan and Billy Strayhorn.
2:00 pm- La Flauta Mexicana with Kitty Lopez - Intro to Mariachi Flute with Mariachi Corazon de Phoenix.
4:00pm- Louise Di Tullio, Legendary Hollywood studio flutist who has played on more than 1000 movie soundtracks, and TV shows. See selected film clips, hear her play and share stories about her career.
