ALBUQUERQUE, NM – With the Albuquerque Thunderbirds playing a series of road games this weekend, Tingley Coliseum will once again play host to the Shrine Circus, while Bob Gerding’s Outdoor Adventure Hunting & Fishing expo and the New Mexico Invitational Team Roping competition take place elsewhere on the State Fairgrounds.

“There’s almost always something going on at EXPO,” said General Manager Judith M. Espinosa. “A lot of people still think we’re just about the State Fair and the Flea Market, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.”

Bob Gerding’s Outdoor Adventures Hunting & Fishing Show 2009 takes place in the Manuel Lujan Complex on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 13, 14 and 15. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $7 adults and children age 12 and older. Children under 12 are admitted free. The New Mexico Invitational Team Roping Competition takes to the Indoor Horse Arena on Saturday and Sunday, February 14 and 15. Registration and entry start at 9 a.m., roping competition begins at 10 a.m. both days. Admission to the public is free. Team roping is among the most action-packed and exciting events in all of rodeo, and some of New Mexico’s finest cowboys and cowgirls are expected to take part.
