ALBUQUERQUE—August 9, 2010—“Home, Home on the Range…” The words “home” and “range” in that familiar Western song can also apply to the Food Preparation Contests at the New Mexico State Fair…Home as in Home Arts and range as in cooking range!

Following are the contests at this year’s fair and information about entries:

Sept. 15 Fleischmann’s Yeast “Bake For The Cure” Baking Contest
Sept. 16 Pie Contest
Sept. 17 Ghirardelli Chocolate Championship
Sept. 18 Junior Baking Contest
Sept. 22 Cake Contest
Sept. 23 The Great American Spam Championship
Sept. 24 Chile Contest
Sept. 25 Karo Perfect Pie Contest
Sept. 25 Make It With Malt-O-Meal Recipe Contest

All food contests take place in the Home Arts Building at the SE corner of the Avenue of the Governors and Heritage Ave. under the direction of Superintendent Paula Watson and Assistant Superintendent Mary Lou Sullenberger.
