ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - (September 11, 2014) - Mayor Richard J. Berry announced today that the first-ever Face the Future Conference will be held in Albuquerque, May 5-6, 2015. The conference will provide an outlook into the future from numerous thinkers and experts across a variety of industries, and advise business leaders on how to best use that information to plan ahead for the coming years.

Mayor Berry was joined by representatives from the Visit Albuquerque and CliffDweller Digital, both of which are partnering with the City of Albuquerque to host the event. Heading up plans for the conference is world-renowned futurist and author David Houle, president of Houle & Associates (www.davidhoule.com). Houle is widely known as "the CEO's Futurist," having spoken to or advised more than 2,500 CEOs and business owners in the past six years.

"Albuquerque is rapidly becoming known as one of the most innovative cities in the United States, due to our forward-thinking and entrepreneurial business climate," said Mayor Berry. "Decisions being made here in a variety of industries, from intelligence to technology and aerospace, are affecting the future on a global level, and that's why Albuquerque, and the newly-renovated convention center, will be the ideal location for this conference."

Topics slated to be discussed include the future of many industries: private space travel, healthcare and medicine, education and learning, digital marketing, robotics and investments, just to name a few.

"The caliber of speakers we have lined up for this conference is incredible," said Houle. "They will truly transform the way attendees think about the future, allowing businesses to develop strategic plans that are significantly ahead of the game and beyond what their competitors are doing."

"From a meetings and tourism perspective, having a conference of this magnitude here opens the door for future high-level bookings, as well," said Dale Lockett, president and CEO of the Visit Albuquerque. "Plus, the fact that the conference has agreed to let Albuquerque host for at least its first five years will provide a tremendously positive economic impact."

Richard Holcomb, CEO of CliffDweller Productions LLC, New Mexico's leading video production company, agrees. "As an entrepreneur and business owner, I have a keen understanding of the progressive business climate here and how awareness of that can help New Mexico's economy well into the future. Exposing key business leaders from around the state, region and country to what we already know to be true can be a real catalyst for business development and economic security for years to come." Holcomb and Houle are co-founders of the Face the Future Conference.

Current Face the Future Conference partners and sponsors include: City of Albuquerque, the Visit Albuquerque, Heritage Hotels & Resorts, Albuquerque Business First, Albuquerque Economic Development, U.S. Bank and Blueliner Marketing.
