WHAT:            Consolidated Association of Pride, Inc. (CAPI) conference

DETAILS:        Santa Fe Pride will host the annual Consolidated Association of Pride, Inc. (CAPI) conference to be held in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. The CAPI region is made up of GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender) Pride organizations from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Mexico.  Participants organize GLBT civil rights programs and events that directly touch an estimated five million people. 

This annual educational, strategic planning and networking event will bring up to 125 delegates from 25-30 Pride organizations to Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

The conference keynote speaker will be Dr. Marci Bowers. During her 20+ years as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist she has delivered more than 2,000 babies and has served as Ob/Gyn Department Chairperson at Swedish (Providence) Medical Center and as the only physician member of the Washington State Midwifery Board. She took over the Gender Reassignment Surgery Department in Trinidad, Colorado in 2003 having been hand-picked by the legendary Dr. Stanley Biber. She performs more than 220 gender-related surgeries annually. Committed to healthy living, she is interested in alternative health solutions to compliment more traditional medical techniques.
