Albuquerque, NM -- Carolyn Pollack Jewelry unveiled its new Mesa Verde designer sterling silver and natural gemstone collection today to highlight environmental awareness during Earth Month.

The Mesa Verde collection of necklaces, bracelets and earrings is both literally and figuratively symbolic of Carolyn Pollack Jewelry’s philosophy of environmental awareness. Since many pieces of the company’s southwestern jewelry are inspired by the landscape, flora, and fauna of the American Southwest, they consider it creative inspiration worth preserving.

Inspiration comes from so many places
The colors and landscape of the Southwest have spurred so many beautiful designs for me, I want to be sure it lasts for everyone to see.

We take our responsibility to the environment seriously
By using recycled materials and promoting ‘green’ statement jewelry for Earth Month, we can show everyone our level of dedication to being environmentally conscientious.

We’re proud of the fact all of our jewelry pieces are made in the USA
When you outsource your production there’s no telling what kind of labor or environmental practices these overseas vendors are following. Because we make everything ourselves, I can keep an eye on every step of the process and make sure we’re acting responsibly.

“Inspiration comes from so many places,” says popular QVC guest and noted jewelry designer, Carolyn Pollack. “The colors and landscape of the Southwest have spurred so many beautiful designs for me, I want to be sure it lasts for everyone to see.”

Using stones like serpentine, malachite and unikite, the Mesa Verde collection makes for a “green” fashion statement with its unusually beautiful color palette. Wearers of Mesa Verde jewelry can be proud of the fact that all of the silver is recycled and that they are buying from an environmentally-conscious company. The Mesa Verde collection is featured throughout the month of April on the website, CarolynPollack.com.

Relios, the manufacturer behind Carolyn Pollack Jewelry, ensures that their impact on the environment is minimal by sourcing recycled silver and gold for their jewelry, continuing their long tradition of persistent dedication to an environmentally-friendly business model.

“We take our responsibility to the environment seriously,” says Bill Pollack, owner and President of Relios. “By using recycled materials and promoting ‘green’ statement jewelry for Earth Month, we can show everyone our level of dedication to being environmentally conscientious.”

The company decided to use recycled silver over 10 years ago. They use the reclaimed silver in casting all of the jewelry pieces made in their Albuquerque, NM facility. By using recycled silver, Relios avoids the harsh effect that mining has on the Earth without sacrificing the quality of their sterling silver jewelry. Sourced from Academy Corporation, the reclaimed silver comes from the by-products of photo development, jewelry manufacturing and industrial processes.

“We’re proud of the fact all of our jewelry pieces are made in the USA,” Pollack says. “When you outsource your production there’s no telling what kind of labor or environmental practices these overseas vendors are following. Because we make everything ourselves, I can keep an eye on every step of the process and make sure we’re acting responsibly.”

Relios constantly seeks out ways to preserve the environment and was awarded the City of Albuquerque’s Pollution Prevention Award of Excellence in the late 1990’s for its efforts to reduce waste and prevent harmful pollution. All of Relios’ designer southwestern jewelry is lead-free and nickle-free and the company actively searches for partners that can provide sterling silver chain and findings made in environmentally-friendly ways. During the month of April, Relios is encouraging each of its 165 employees to “go green” and take active steps to recycle and reduce energy use.

Customers can do their part to go green when they purchase two items of Carolyn Pollack Jewelry at a minimum value of $30. As a gift with purchase, customers will receive a tote bag made from recycled materials. Available while supplies last at Carolyn Pollack Jewelry at ABQ Uptown, Southwest Spirit by Carolyn Pollack at the Gaylord Texan Resort, and CarolynPollack.com, these sturdy bags, adorned with the Relios logo, are a great way to avoid using and disposing of plastic and paper shopping bags.
