The legendary ‘Big White Tent' that encompasses one full acre of space becomes a kaleidoscope of color and activity; perfectly complementing the hot air balloons floating overhead. Festival goers can explore a lively market that features the works of 250 painters, sculptors, potters, photographers, jewelers and more. Artists sell directly to patrons, many of them giving demonstrations and sharing stories behind their pieces. Fall weather in Albuquerque is unrivaled to begin with, and the festival's outdoor pavilion offers a chance to enjoy the day and listen to regional bands like Mariachi Fiesta Internacional, Mezcla Latina and Alpha Blue, while grabbing a bite to eat. Pair an Indian taco with a cold margarita or a local craft beer, or sample specialty foods in the Culinary Arts tent. To top it off - live horse racing surrounds the festival! Don't miss this slice of New Mexican culture! It's as much a part of Albuquerque during the fall as red or green chile!
