ALBUQUERQUE, NM --- The 2009 American College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP) National Clinical Conference Nurse Practitioners: Shaping Policy, Improving Practice is the premier educational event for nurse practitioners. The conference will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center October 7-11, 2009.

The conference will focus on delivering cutting edge clinical information and providing nurse practitioners with the advocacy, regulatory, and legislative information they will need to make certain there are no barriers to providing the best care to the patients of this nation.

Newsworthy topics being covered at the event include the nurse practitioner communities active engagement in both the health care reform, and H1N1 and the upcoming fall flu season.

This event is not open to the public; however, ACNP strongly encourages local news agencies to attend this year’s conference to learn more about how nurse practitioners are integral to the nation’s health care reform. ACNP’s President, Dr. Thad Wilson would also be delighted to speak to reporters regarding the role of the nurse practitioner and how they positively impact health care delivery

According to the Visit Albuquerque the conference is expected to generate over $600,000 in direct spending in the city with 900 attendees. For more information on this conference visit www.acnpconference.com.
