Hotel Andaluz, a historic, LEED-gold certified boutique hotel in downtown Albuquerque, has been rated number four on the list of the Top 10 Hotels in the Southwest in Condé Nast Traveler’s prevalent Readers’ Choice Awards. This is the second year in a row Hotel Andaluz has been named a top hotel by Condé Nast’s readers, moving up from 12th on the list in 2012. Nearly 80,000 readers took part in this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards survey and voted on hotels across the globe, making the scope of voting in 2013 larger than ever before.
“We are thrilled to be named one of the Top 10 Hotels in the Southwest for the second consecutive year, and even more excited about moving up to the fourth spot this year,” said John O’Hara, General Manager of Hotel Andaluz. “To receive recognition from some of the world’s most avid travelers is an absolute honor, and we’d like to thank our many guests for sharing their experiences with Condé Nast this year.”
Some of the guest feedback that helped secure this award includes:
"Andaluz is a luxurious escape in the heart of downtown Albuquerque. Ultimate comfort near bustling nightlife, great shopping, and wonderful restaurants. I don't ever want to stay anywhere else in this city!"
"This was an amazing find! Beautifully redone... green, comfortable, everything you could possibly think of to make one's stay as comfortable as possible. The lobby sitting area is magnificent and the restaurant graciously served us after a late arrival. Staff was excellent & went out of their way to be friendly."
The recognition comes at a time when Hotel Andaluz is making exciting changes at the hotel, including the planning of the grand opening of MÁS, a full-service restaurant and tapas bar that will be taking the place of the present Lucia restaurant in the hotel. MÁS will be headed by the notable Chef James Campbell Caruso, with a cuisine inspired by the flavors and rich history of Spanish cooking.
