This performance tells the story of Christmas through Mexican holiday traditions. Mariachi music combines with vibrant folk dance in a unique and festive holiday celebration. Named after the ancestral home of Aztecs, Mariachi Aztlán performs traditional mariachi with passion. Theirensemble includes violinists, guitarists, trumpeters, and other skilled musicians. The group has toured across Mexico, the United States, and Canada, sharing Mariachi music throughout North America. They arenationally recognized for their performances, some of which include playing at the White House and collaborating with Houston Grand Opera to create the world's first "Mariachi-Opera." UTRGV's Ballet Folklórico dance group from brings vibrant energy to every performance. The group has been showcased in dance conferences across the country and has toured across Europe, bringing Mexicanheritage wherever they go through traditional folk dance. The talent of their thirty-two members combines with colorful costumes in a performance full of swirling colors and intricate movement.
