New Mexico Steam Locomotive & Railroad Historical Society

NMSL&RHS (New Mexico Steam Locomotive & Rail Road Historical Society) is a non-profit organization staffed solely by dedicated volunteers whose mission is to fully restore the Baldwin 4-8-4 Steam Locomotive, known as AT&SF 2926, to operational status and then commence passenger excursion service.

Our mission is to fully restore the Baldwin 4-8-4 Steam Locomotive, AT&SF 2926, to operational status and commence passenger excursion service. After years of effort by an eclectic and dedicated volunteer staff of Doctors, Scientists, Engineers, Skilled Tradesmen and others, the Tender is finished. The Locomotive itself is well past the tear down and inspection phase, and now well into the re-assembly phase.

In the not-too-distant-future, we are confident the thunder of 2926 and the wail of her whistle will be heard again as she makes her way from town-to-town. This is the unfolding story of 2926. Welcome aboard.
