Concert: Kyle Martin

Designated the “Original Rock ‘n’ Roll Cowboy,” Kyle Martin expertly traverses the realms of rock ‘n’ roll and country flair. Although solidly rooted in south central New Mexico’s western culture and lifestyle, he found musical inspiration from rock ‘n’ rollers including Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Van Halen and ZZ Top at an early age. This prompted Martin to create his own subgenre, “Westrock,” creatively blending the best elements of each genre to create a hard-hitting form of honky-tonk music played in a rock ‘n’ roll format. Although he performs predominantly in the southwest, he has played hotspots from Nashville to New York City. Martin was voted “Best Musician/ Male Vocalist” in Albuquerque The Magazine’s “Best of the City” awards in 2014 and recently released his first full-length LP of original songs.
