Singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer John Mayer first came to public attention in 2001 with the release of his platinum-selling debut album, Room For Squares. Mayer went on to receive platinum-certification for his second album Heavier Things, which earned him a 2007 Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album, and another, the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance award for "Waiting on the World to Change". A frequent collaborator of legendary blues musicians like B. B. King, Buddy Guy, and Eric Clapton, Mayer has also won a Grammy Award as part of the John Mayer Trio and recently formed the supergroup Dead & Company with three former Grateful Dead musicians. Mayer has won seven Grammy awards from nineteen nominations and sold a total of over 20 million albums worldwide.
