Chatter Sunday

In celebration of the release their self-titled debut recording, husband and wife duo Boyd Meets Girl return to Chatter on August 6th. Cellist Laura Metcalf and guitarist Rupert will present a lovingly curated set of their favorite works from the album. They will present their own arrangements, including a reduction of Faure’s Pavane from its orchestral original, and Bach’s solo keyboard inventions re-imagined on cello and guitar, alongside contemporary works by Olivier Messiaen and Bolivian composer Jaime Zenamon. The program is designed to highlight the range and of timbral possibilities of this under-explored instrumental pairing. Rupert and Laura’s collaboration began as a romantic relationship in 2012, and this repertoire has been collected over the years and performed on tours throughout the USA, Australia, India and Nepal. They are now happily married and live in New York City. Doors open at 9:30 am. Come early to enjoy the coffee and camaraderie.
