ABQ Jewish Film Fest: Carvalho's Journey

A real life 19th century American western adventure story, Carvalho's Journey tells the extraordinary story of Solomon Nunes Carvalho (1815-1897), an observant Sephardic Jew born in Charleston, South Carolina, and his life as a groundbreaking photographer, artist and pioneer in American history. Robert Shlaer, daguerreotype expert and featured on-camera narrator, will be guest speaker following the film. This screening is presented in partnership with the Santa Fe Jewish Film Festival and the New Mexico Jewish Historical Society.(2015, U.S.; 87 minutes; English) Part of the ABQ Jewish Film Fest.
