Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a world-renowned attraction and destination for kids of all ages. For more than four decades, the first week in October brings the smells of roasting chiles and the beautiful, magical moving picture show of hot air balloons sailing silently through the crisp fall air. Guests from all over the world come to Albuquerque to celebrate ballooning. Literally hundreds of balloons will be taking flight from the Balloon Fiesta Park this year. You won't want to miss this city-wide celebration!
Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festival: Balloon Fiesta Show
2019 marks the fourth year that the festival's huge white tent will rise alongside the PGA-level golf course of Sandia Resort & Casino – right in the heart of the action at the same intersection as the Balloon Fiesta itself. This juried show features the work of 200 fine artists and craftspeople from throughout the U.S., offering tourists and residents a unique, world-class art experience.
7th Annual IPCC Albuquerque American Indian Arts Festival
The IPCC festival is the only authentic, all–Native American art show in town during the Balloon Fiesta. With its intensive application process and limit of 50 artists, the event is a premier showcase. Meet, talk with, and shop directly from Native artists. The two-day festival also includes traditional Native dances and artist demonstrations.
ABQ Zine Fest 9
Zines are self-published works. ABQ Zine Fest now in its 9th year, is an inclusive, free, annual public event for writers, graphic and mixed-media artists committed to literary arts. ABQZF is also community-accountable and fosters a non-competitive, diverse, queer-friendly, creative environment for zinesters in the city of Albuquerque—a working-class, multi-ethnic, strongly indigenous city. The Great Balloon Chase Race
RaceNM presents the Great Balloon Chase ½ Marathon and 5k. Experience the excitement and beauty of a morning run as you witness hot air balloons from the world’s largest hot air ballooning event take to the sky backdropped against the Sandia Mountains and Rio Grande River Valley.
