Public Opening: The Jim Henson Exhibition
The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited is a dynamic new visitor experience exploring Jim Henson’s groundbreaking work for film and television and his transformative impact on popular culture. This comprehensive exhibition reveals how Henson and his team of builders, performers, and writers brought to life the enduringly popular worlds of The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and much more. It also includes material from Henson’s experimental film projects and his early work, presenting him as a restlessly creative performer, filmmaker, and technical innovator. The exhibition features a broad range of artifacts related to Henson’s unparalleled career, including more than 20 puppets, character sketches, storyboards, scripts, photographs, film and television clips, behind-the-scenes footage, iconic costumes, and interactive experiences that allow visitors to try their hand at puppeteering on camera and designing a puppet character.
38th Annual Placitas Holiday Fine Arts & Crafts Sale
Well-known for the arts, the Placitas Holiday Fine Arts and Crafts Sale will be celebrating its 38th year as one of the most entertaining arts & crafts fairs in northern New Mexico. Some of the finest artists come from all over the state to show their art at the Holiday Sale, held every year on the weekend before Thanksgiving in the historic Village of Placitas. 9th Annual Pueblo Fiber Arts Show & Sale
This annual celebration is the only show in the world devoted exclusively to the oldest of Pueblo art forms. Join us for a showcase of Pueblo weaving, embroidery, spinning, knitting, crochet, sewing, and basketry. Textiles continue to be an important part of Pueblo ceremonies today, and this event plays a vital role in promoting and preserving fiber arts. Free.
Downtown Growers’ Market Winter Market
The Downtown Growers' Market is extending their season by 3 weeks! The Winter Market is hosted at Fusion Theatre, downtown. There will be a variety of vendors similar to our regular market: local farmers, artisans and food vendors.
