2019 Zoo Music Concert Series
The Zoo Music concert series showcases regional, national and international talent playing a variety of music, including country, Latin rock, Afro-Cuban, Celtic, bluegrass, Cajun and pop-rock. This week, hear the American Bluegrass sounds of Steep Canyon Rangers. Blankets, lawn chairs and picnics are welcome, but please do not bring glass containers, sharp knives or alcoholic beverages. Food, beer and wine are available for purchase. Animal exhibits are open until 8 p.m. Events are rain or shine and tickets are available online or at the gate. This week’s band is a group called Arrested Development, with a hip hop sound!
6th Annual Summer Tablao Season at Casa Flamenco
Casa Flamenca invites you to experience our 6th Annual Summer Tablao Season in the heart of Albuquerque’s Old Town district. We bring you a spectacular lineup of world-class artists in an intimate venue reminiscent of the clubs of Andalusia, Spain. A tablao is a place where flamenco shows are performed as well as the colloquial term used for the tablao or platform floor on which a flamenco dancer dances. Tablao venues were established during the 1960s throughout Spain, replacing the cafés cantantes (cabarets) and are mostly found today in the Andalusia region of Spain. Casa Flamenca is proud to offer an authentic Spanish tablao experience in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At Casa Flamenca, the tablao dancers, singers, and musicians captivate the audience in an intimate gathering. The intricacy of the guitar work, the haunting soul of the song, the rhythms of the dance vibrating through the floorboards and your feet.

Juneteenth - A Celebration of Freedom

There will be a showing of Ava Duvernay’s award-winning documentary “13th”, food trucks, speakers, live DJ music from Byron Powdrell & 99.9 The Beat-FM, information tables, and much more. Join us in the heart of the City for a celebration of this important American cultural holiday. Lots of seating available but you can bring your own seats and blankets too! You can enjoy the Civic Plaza splash pad fountain and the Imagination Playground will be on hand for kids to play with. Parking is available beneath the plaza for a small fee, and free parking is available in the area.

Aquarium Overnight: Coral Craziness
Pack your pajamas and pillow for the ultimate sleepover! This month’s theme is coral Craziness! Explore the Aquarium at night and learn in depth about ocean animals. Meet marine animals up close at the touch pools, play a game, get crafty (we provide ideas and supplies), and take in a marine movie at the Aquarium Theater. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
