  • Route 66 Summerfest

The second Summerfest of the season takes place this weekend. Head out to Nob Hill, on Central Avenue between Girard Boulevard and Washington Street for food trucks, an Old Route 66 Car Show, the Mother Road Art Market, and live entertainment. Irma Thomas, a Grammy Award-winning jazz artist, will be headlining the evening. Don’t miss the Kids Zone, featuring free face-painting, an inflatable bounce house, and two 25-foot rock climbing walls.

  • 2018 New Mexico Senior Olympics State Summer Games

The New Mexico Senior Olympics is kicking off its summer games today! This five-day tournament features 90 events in over 23 different sports designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle in mature adults. Athletes who participate this week will have an opportunity to qualify for the 2019 National Senior Games, which are being held right here in the Duke City!

  • Concert: Pentatonix

A great way to enjoy Albuquerque’s warm summer nights is with a concert at Isleta Amphitheater. This Sunday, catch Pentatonix, an acapella group who won the third season of the singing competition show: The Sing Off and eventually went on to win three Grammy Awards. Special guests Echosmith and Calum Scott will start the night off.

  • World Boomerang Championships

The World Boomerang Championships are being held at the Balloon Fiesta Park, featuring boomerang throwers from over 10 different countries including Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Japan and more! The tournament is free for spectators, who can also purchase a boomerang at the field for free boomerang lessons.

  • July Half-Price Weekend at the ABQ BioPark

The ABQ BioPark is hosting its 3rd half-price weekend of the year. Visitors can get into all three BioPark locations; The Zoo, Botanic Gardens and the Aquarium for half-off the regular price of admission. In addition to this great deal, there will be special events at all of the locations – including the Dragonfly Festival at the Botanic Garden, Hippo and Seal feedings at The Zoo and watch Aquarium divers feed sea animals at the Coral Reef Tank.

  • 3rd Thursday

Tomorrow is the 3rd Thursday of July, which means The Albuquerque Museum has a fun event for the whole family. Starting at 5:00 PM, there will be free admission to select gallery exhibits, hands-on art activities for kids and adults, live music performances and food and drink specials at the Museum Café. Stop by the Museum Store before you leave, which also has special extended hours just for this event.

  • Albuquerque Philharmonic Summer Chamber Orchestra: Concert 2

The Second concert in the Albuquerque Philharmonic’s Summer Chamber Concert Series will feature guest conductor Gabriela Garza and clarinet soloist Caitlin Baere. Works by Schubert and Mozart, including Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, will be performed.
