Route 66 Summerfest
This free event features fun for the whole family including the Old Route 66 Car Show, Mother Road Art Market, Kids Zone & Youth Central, food trucks and live music from headliner Los Angeles based American indi-folk band Magic Giant.
Lavender in the Village
The mission of the Lavender in the Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, is to preserve and enhance Los Ranchos public open space, stimulate an interest in sustainable agriculture, with an emphasis on educating the public, including such matters as historic agriculture, lavender and its uses, and fostering community spirit.
Movies on the Plaza: Apollo 11
For the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, Movies on the Plaza presents a special showing of APOLLO 11 (G - 1h 33m), an amazing new documentary of one of humanity's greatest accomplishments! Never-before-seen footage and audio recordings take you straight into the heart of NASA's most celebrated mission as astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins embark on a historic trip to the moon. Admission is *FREE*! Come enjoy the Civic Plaza fountain splash pad that you can play in - fun for kids of all ages! The Imagination Playground will also be on hand for kids to play with. Bring your family and tell your friends! Lots of seating available but you can bring your own seats and blankets too! A concession stand will be available onsite! Dog & bike friendly. Parking is available beneath the plaza for a small fee, and free parking is available in the area.
Ride to the Moon with Neil, Buzz, and Mike- By Loretta Hall
Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11's flight to the Moon. New Mexico space author Loretta Hall will take you along on the journey that sent the first human beings to a brand new world. Loretta Hall is an award winning author of "Space Pioneers: In Their Own Words", "Out of this World: New Mexico's Contributions to Space Travel", "The Complete Space Buff's Bucket List", and "Miguel & Michelle Visit Spaceport America." Among other writing awards, she was a Silver Winner in the Science category of the IndieFab awards for "Space Pioneers." She is also an award-winning speaker and a Space Ambassador for the National Space Society. There will be a book signing. Preregistration is encouraged or tickets can be purchased at the door the evening of the event (if seats are available).
14th Annual New Mexico Jazz Festival
The New Mexico Jazz Festival is a collaborative project of the Outpost Performance Space, the Lensic, Santa Fe's Performing Arts Center, and the Santa Fe Jazz Foundation, all 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations. The two-week Festival takes place each year in the latter part of July and features local as well as world-renowned artists and jazz masters while bringing together the two major New Mexico cities- Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
2019 Under the Stars Summer Concert Series- Gipsy Kings Tribute
Presented by the NM Jazz Workshop, the 2019 Under the Stars Summer Concert Series features live music from a variety of bands. Salsa, Blues, and Jazz, just to name a few. Come and enjoy your beautiful summer weekend at the Albuquerque Museum. All shows are held at the Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Children 12 and under are free.
