  • Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque

The 28th Annual Mariachi de Albuquerque is a 4-day event showcasing world-renowned professional groups spanning a variety of styles within the Mariachi tradition. Attend Mariachi conference workshops, live concerts, jam sessions and more. On Thursday night, La Pasion de Mariachi is taking place at the Kiva Auditorium, which will explore the history and tradition of Mariachi. Friday night is the Showcase performance at Civic Plaza. A free event for the public – watch mariachi bands of different generations compete for a cash prize and the opportunity to perform at the Mariachi Spectacular Concert the following evening at Sandia Resort and Casino’s amphitheater.

  • 4th Annual Mac N' Cheese and Music Festival

The cheesiest event in the Duke City is back this weekend! Featuring sampling of gourmet mac & cheese from 30 different restaurants. As you sample, vote for your favorite, as one restaurant will be crowned “Best Mac & Cheese in Albuquerque”. Find the perfect beer or wine to pair with your favorite cheesy dish and settle in for performances from a Michael Jackson cover artist and tribute to Bruno Mars from Uptown Funk! Proceeds from this festival will benefit the New Mexico Cancer Center.

  • 13th Annual New Mexico Jazz Festival

A collaborative project of the Outpost Performance Space, The Lensic, Santa Fe’s Performing Arts Center and the Santa Fe Jazz Foundation – the New Mexico Jazz Festival is back for its 13th year. This two-week festival features local and world-renowned jazz artists. Throughout the duration of this festival, there is a mix of free and ticketed events throughout Albuquerque and Santa Fe – from workshops to concerts.

  • Lavender Distillation Experience

Los Poblanos has beautiful lavender fields that are managed using sustainable and organic techniques. During their harvesting season, join them for educational sessions about the process of capturing lavender essential oil through steam distillation. Guests will watch a live demonstration and be able to have a Q&A with farmers before making their own special lavender gift to take home. Finish up the afternoon with a cold glass of lavender lemonade.

  • Concert: Keith Urban

Keith Urban’s “Graffiti U” World Tour, named after his most recent album, is making a pit stop in Albuquerque on Sunday.  The Grammy Award winning artist will be performing fan favorites that span his decade-long career. Kelsea Ballerini, who is known for her radio hits; “Peter Pan” and “Legends” will get the night started before Urban hits the stage.

  • Shark Discovery Day

Come meet five different types of sharks that call our Aquarium home. There will be discovery stations set up near their tanks that will explain shark’s amazing adaptability, keen senses and the important role they play in ocean ecosystems.

  • 5th Annual ABQ Jewish Film Fest

The Jewish Community Center is hosting the 5th Annual Jewish Film Fest starting this week.  All showings will be at the UA High Ridge Movie Theatre, and will feature six critically-acclaimed films from Israel and the United States. These films portray a rich and varied look into Jewish life, both past and present.
