10th Annual Festival de Bellas Artes

A multi-cultural festival of music and dance for Albuquerque area schools, Festival de Bellas Artes was created to nurture skill and appreciation for multicultural music and dance. In addition to preserving and promoting Folkloric dance and Mariachi music, the performances celebrate diversity – featuring African dance and drumming, Taiko, Middle Eastern Dance, Flamenco and hip hop.

Concert: We Banjo 3

Finding a common ground between old world tradition and authentic Americana, Irish band We Banjo 3, wows audiences with banjos, fiddles, guitars and mandolins in an innovative fusion of styles they have dubbed ‘celtgrass’. This unique genre is a combination of traditional Celtic music and American bluegrass.

Walking with Poets

Get inspired with a series of walks hosted by different local poets every month. This month, Janet Ruth will be hosting. Ruth is an emeritus ornithologist and has published her research on bird ecology and recently published her own book of poems about birds. She will share a number of her favorite poems by authors who write of nature - like Mary Oliver, Pattiann Rogers, Wendell Berry and a few local poets. Don’t forget your notebook to capture your own words on paper.

Discover STEM Day

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History invites families to a day of engineering fun. Join local scientists and engineers in experiments and other hands-on activities like flight simulators, Tesla coils, and even making ice cream with liquid nitrogen! All activities are kid-friendly and designed to spark their interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

Concert: Martin Sexton

Martin Sexton returns with what Rolling Stones calls his “soul-marinated voice”, an acoustic guitar and a suitcase full of heartfelt songs. His work has appeared in several television series such as “Scrubs” and “Parenthood” as well as numerous films. Though, it’s his impassioned live shows that keeps his fans enthralled.

A guide will take you throughout the building, pointing out every carefully preserved detail and explaining how this theatre became one of the region’s most valued cultural gems.
