2019 New Mexico Black History Festival

In it’s eighth anniversary, The New Mexico Black History Festival strives to celebrate the important contributions that African Americans have made in New Mexico and the United States. This year’s theme is “Declaration of Interdependence”  - paying homage to a letter written by Dr. Martin Luther King. Art, entertainment and cultural events will take place throughout the month of February - most are free, family-friendly and open to the public.  Please check the website for a full list of events.

2019 Friends & Lovers Balloon Rally

Scores of hot air balloons, including competition racers and special-shape balloons, take to the sky every February for this playful, Valentine’s Day themed gathering. This free event is the second largest hot air balloon rally in the country and welcomes friends, lovers and families to experience hot air ballooning up close.

Comedy: Tiffany Haddish

Breakout star from the huge movie Girls Trip, several TV shows and the author of her own book – Tiffany Haddish will be making a stop in Albuquerque. Haddish is know for her raw and real comedy that often draws inspiration from her own life experiences.

Children's Valentine's Day Cookie Decorating Class

Rude Boy Cookies is known for their deliciously creative creations, and kids can get a taste of decorating their own at this special Valentine’s Day themed class. Each child will decorate 6 cookies with the help of a cookie expert. Just in time to give as a gift, or eat by themselves!

Comedy Night at the JCC featuring Keith Barany

Described by the New York Post as the “wittiest comedian working”, Keith Barany has worked with everyone from Jerry Seinfield to Joan Rivers, and has even written for television shows like Politically Incorrect,  The Jimmy Kimmel Show, and even The Emmys! With a stand-up career spanning 30 years, his lightening fast ad-libs keep audiences coming back for more.

New Mexico Runners vs. Colorado Rumble

Soccer is one of the country’s fastest growing sports, and the New Mexico Runners are bringing an arena-style experience that the state hasn’t seen since 1991. After kicking off last month, the New Mexico Runners are looking forward to an exciting season. This weekend they take on the Colorado Rumble, from Denver.
