The Zia sun is seen everywhere, from commercial planes flown across the United States to tattoos proudly displayed as a badge of honor. Yet, do we know the true origin of the Zia symbol and its original meaning? This exhibit that includes community contributions will take you through the journey of the symbol’s origin in Zia pueblo to its commodification as it continues to grow in popularity, analyzing the question of ownership.

  • 2019 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships

The Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships return to downtown Albuquerque this weekend. Come cheer on the Lobos as they race against some of the top competitors in the region like Bringham Young University, the Air Force Academy, and the University of Las Vegas – among others.

  • One New Mexico Concert: Draw Your Circle Wide - New Mexico Black History Month Festival

Celebrate Black History month with a special concert. Award-winning songwriter V. Michael McKay will be joined by special guest, gospel recording-artist Treva Jones. A diverse choir made up of many local community voices will round out the afternoon.

  • Performance: Murphy's Celtic Legacy

With St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, get prepped with a thrilling performance that features dancers from Riverdance, Lord of the Dance and Celtic Woman. Murphy’s Celtic Legacy presents an invigorating showcase of Irish Dance reborn. The show’s original tale draws from Irish folk-lore and the legendary battles between good and evil.

  • Spring Family Fun Days - February

Play, learn and explore with the entire family! Every month through the end of May will feature a fun discovery theme that parents and children alike will enjoy. February’s theme is “Rocks, Soil & Sand”, with fun sand art activities, geodes to break open and mud sculptures! Each week children can participate in a different craft, with full craft schedule  on the website.

A familiar tale of three little piggies is re-imagined in this student-led production. This new take on the old story recounts how in a community terrorized by hate and division, three little pigs are in a fight to unite their community. Will fighting will bring them together? Take a look at activism through the lense of a popular children’s story portrayed through dance.

  • Concert: Lauren Daigle

Lauren Daigle is a two-time Billboard Music Award winner, Grammy nominee and an American Music Award winner. With a voice that is both smoky and sweet, Daigle has found a unique sound that is reminiscent of the soulful, heartfelt vulnerability of Adele mixed with the raw power of Amy Winehouse.
