  • One ABQ Celebration

Mayor Tim Keller and his wife have challenged the city to become “One ABQ”. In August this means engaging in community service that connects youth and elders in community. Celebrate the kick-off of this awesome challenge on Sunday in Civic Plaza. Fill up on food from the city’s best food trucks, and wash it down with local beer or wine while learning more about the One ABQ Challenge through a showcase of already completed service projects.  Meet with organizations that work year-round to connect youth and elders. There will be plenty of activities for the kids, plus live music performances from Mondo Vibrations, DK and the Affordables, and Duke City’s favorite; Al Hurricane Jr.

  • Concert: Chris Stapleton's All-American Road Show

Five-time Grammy award winning artist Chris Stapleton, is bringing his Road Show to Albuquerque. A talented musician and writer, Stapleton has penned over 170 songs – recognizable as some of country music’s biggest hits. He began his solo vocalist career in 2015 with the release of his album, Traveller. The night will open with Marty Stuart and Brent Cobb.

  • 2018 Under the Stars Summer Concert Series: Son Como Son

All good things must come to an end, and this Friday marks the end of the 2018 Summer Concert Series at the Albuquerque Museum. Spice up your weekend with a performance from Son Como Son, a popular Albuquerque band specializing in Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha and much more! Enjoy dinner and a drink from the Slate Street Café location at the museum, or pack a picnic for a truly memorable meal under the starry sky.

  • World Lion Day

August 10th is World Lion Day, created to celebrate the importance of the lion and the conservation of the species, worldwide. The ABQ BioPark is participating with educational sessions to raise awareness on the importance of lion conservation. Learn about the lions at the BioPark and what obstacles they face in their natural habitat. Get a front row seat at the Lion Keeper Chat, and watch as the lions enjoy special fun activities.

  • Performance: ACTIVATE

Dance Exposé Productions has a thrilling weekend of performances this weekend. ACTIVATE is a high-energy show that highlights amazing multi-generational performers from around Albuquerque. Several of the dance company’s performers will make their choreographic debut during this show – which combines a variety of dance styles and music genres.

  • Chaco Day Tours

Explore the ancient ruins and petroglyphs of Chaco Canyon with day-long tour of the historic site. Departing from Hotel Chaco, you will be whisked away to the canyon in a comfortable vehicle equipped with snacks, water and reading materials about the site. Upon your arrival, fill-up your re-usable complimentary water bottle and set out with the tour group to explore the Central Kiva, Casa Rinconada, Pueblo Bonito and more! A gourmet picnic lunch will be provided.
