Built in 1881, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad is 64 miles of narrow-gauge railroad nestled in the Rocky Mountains that span the border between New Mexico and Colorado.

Originally part of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad, the CTSRR was saved in 1970 by a group of rail fan volunteers and the States of Colorado and New Mexico.
