Green Albuquerque Buildings

In 2005, Mayor Martin J. Chávez set a new standard for building and renovating that requires all city buildings to adhere to standards set by the U.S. Green Building Council. Building "green" in Albuquerque includes homes and businesses.

The Hyatt Regency Tamaya initiatives include waste stream recycling and energy waste minimization/conservation.

Heritage Hotels and Resorts has also developed a going green program for its hotels and employees including re-usable linens, non-toxic cleaning agents, non-smoking guestrooms and more.

Crowne Plaza Albuquerque underwent a comprehensive $14 million “greenovation” that incorporated energy and water conservation and features a fresh, contemporary Western style inside and out.
