The National Institute of Flamenco announces the 25th anniversary celebration of Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque, June 10-16, 2012. Festival Flamenco Internacional is the largest exposition of flamenco dance and music in the United States, offering workshops, conference and performances. “Once again, New Mexico will play host and be treated to the highest caliber dancers and performances in the flamenco world. Featuring Spanish superstars that represent a wide display of talent and styles ranging from traditional flamenco to cutting edge performances, these artists embody the essence of 25 years of Festival Flamenco Internacional,” says Eva Encinias Sandoval, Festival Flamenco Founder and Artistic Director.

Performances will be held nightly at the University of New Mexico’s Rodey Theatre and at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Ticket prices range from $20-$90, with ticket packages available for the general public and New Mexico Pass available to residents. Festival headliners include: Pastora Galván, Adela Campallo, Rafael Campallo, Olga Pericet and Alfonso Losa.

Festival Flamenco Internacional workshops will be held at Carlisle Gym on the University of New Mexico campus. Registration is now open for more than 25 workshops, which offer students comprehensive flamenco-related study, with a number of options for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels. Workshop prices range from $150-$240, with early bird incentives available.
