ALBUQUERQUE, NM –A trip to the top of Sandia Peak is a must during a visit to Albuquerque on North America’s longest aerial tram to watch a breathtaking sunset over the extinct volcanoes of the Albuquerque’s West Mesa. Viewing the Sandias during a sunset is just as magical as they take on a pinkish watermelon hue. Albuquerque and its gorgeous sunsets are one of the nominees in the latest 10Best Readers Choice travel award contest to name the favorite place to watch a sunset. A battle is underway as online voting takes place across the country.

The contest will run until October 14, 2013 at 11:59am EDT. The winner will then be announced on 10Best.com at noon on October 16th. The contest organizers want viewers to think about “what says vacation more than a beautiful sunset?” It is also a way for everyone to think about their “favorite vacations with a westerly view.”

We need your help to showcase just how significant Albuquerque sunsets are to New Mexico. Residents can go to http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-place-to-watch-a-sunset/ to vote to help name Albuquerque the best place to watch a sunset.

The contest runs for 23 more days and voters are allowed to vote once per day. Please encourage your readers/viewers to participate and vote as often as they can.

We will keep people posted at Facebook.com/VisitABQ as the contest progresses.
