The Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau Announces #TrueABQ Ambassador Winner

ACVB congratulates Janett Gonzalez of the Albuquerque Bar & Grill
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - (May 7, 2016) - The Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau announces Janett Gonzalez of the Albuquerque Bar & Grill (located inside the Best Western Plus Rio Grande Inn) as the winner of their #TrueABQ Ambassadors campaign.

Best Western Plus Rio Grande Inn General Manager Rebecca Plutino nominated Gonzalez for going above and beyond in her position, saying: "Janett is our sous chef and takes incredible care to make sure all our plates look and taste wonderful. She is a person who pays attention to details; her work is recognized by our guests every day. She also is a self-taught baker who now provides our kitchen with ‘home-style' bakery treats, like our cinnamon bun, seasonal pies, and apple and New Mexico green chile empanada. She is generous with her time and teaches others in our kitchen to do good work. I should mention she is professional at all times, but also lots of fun happens when she is around. She makes our kitchen a happy place to work. If a guest wants something with a twist, she is always accommodating and this is appreciated."

ACVB held their #TrueABQ Ambassadors campaign in conjunction with the U.S. Travel Association's 2016 National Travel and Tourism Week (May 1-7). The organization chose 1-2 nominees per day to recognize on social media, all of which were entered into a random drawing to be named ACVB's #TrueABQ Ambassador. Gonzalez will receive a recognition plaque and a hot air balloon ride for two provided by Rainbow Ryders, Inc.® - Hot Air Balloon Company.

National Travel and Tourism Week-America's annual salute to travel and tourism-serves to champion the power of the industry. During #NTTW16, travel and tourism professionals from across the nation help to promote the impactful contributions their travel markets and organizations make to the U.S. economy.
