Albuquerque, NM – The popular television series Breaking Bad is putting Albuquerque, New Mexico in the spotlight for travelers from around the world. Albuquerque now has even more to offer for TV fans hoping to step into the scenes and see where Breaking Bad was filmed with an “on-location vacation.” Plus, local businesses are whipping up some creative product offerings inspired by the show.  

The newly released 2013 Emmy nominations are filled with Breaking Bad nods for outstanding drama series, writing, directing and acting by it’s key cast members. In 2013 Breaking Bad was also nominated for multiple Golden Globe awards including Best Drama Television Series and Bryan Cranston was awarded Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series. The acclaim earned by the show over the past few years has driven interest from around the world, even in countries where it is not aired on network TV.

Breaking Bad is set and filmed in Albuquerque, and many locals are huge fans. The anticipation now builds for the final season, which is set to air on AMC beginning on August 11th.

Albuquerque has now become a vacation destination for many viewers of the show Breaking Bad. Many of the show’s popular filming locations are benefiting from those visiting the city. Entrepreneurial business owners have created a variety of offerings related to the show from trolley and bike tours of the locations to Breaking Bad inspired beer, candies and bath salts.

The Visit Albuquerque (Visit Albuquerque) has compiled a self-guided map pinpointing popular filming locations along with nearby visitor locations and attractions at
www.ItsATrip.org/BreakingBad.

The ABQ Trolley Co. offers a weekly 3.5-hour “Bad Tour” of filming locations from the show such as Walter White’s house, Tuco’s headquarters, Pollos Hermanos and more.

Routes Bicycle Rentals & Tours is offering Biking Bad tours for guests get a first-hand experience of moments from the series, key locations and characters.

Breaking Bad Inspired Products
Albuquerque's Marble Brewery will introduce Walt's White Lie and Heisenberg's Dark Ale in August 2013 for the Season 6 premiere. Get the details.

The Candy Lady, an established candy maker in Old Town Albuquerque, offers Breaking Bad Candy selling for $1 per bag. She has received orders from around the world.

Great Face and Body, a local spa product manufacturer, created a line of bath salts called Bathing Bad. The spa also sells a spice line inspired by Los Pollos Hermanos including seasonings and a new fried chicken batter mix. They recently introduced a BrBa candy product as well that can be ordered for your Breaking Bad premiere party in August.

The makers of Bathing Bad have also introduced a Breaking Bad Cooking Class where you leave with your own bag of candy and a bag of our Bathing Bad Bath Salts.

Rebel Donuts has three locations around Albuquerque that offer the "Blue Sky Donut" as a tribute to Breaking Bad.
