Pontiac to Offer Free Tickets to the Public for New Mexico Bowl II

Pontiac Designated “Official Vehicle” for the Bowl Game Saturday, December 22

ALBUQUERQUE – When was the last time you actually received a pair of free tickets to a major sporting event? Well, when the New Mexico Lobos face off with the Nevada Wolf Pack in New Mexico Bowl II, Pontiac hopes to bring a host of fans to the Albuquerque-based collegiate football Bowl game for free thanks to a "test drive for tickets" program.

Pontiac, the official vehicle of New Mexico Bowl II, invites fans to stop by any of its nine Albuquerque area dealerships through December 21, take a test drive of any Pontiac vehicle, and walk away with a pair of tickets (while supplies last) to New Mexico Bowl II.

For fans attending the Bowl game on Saturday, December 22, Pontiac will rev up the pre-game Acoma Sky City Fan Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with an interactive vehicle display. Fans are invited to experience a host of Pontiac vehicles in the football-themed display, as well as pick up an official commemorative Pontiac-New Mexico Bowl II seat cushion.

"Pontiac is pleased to sign on as the automotive sponsor of the New Mexico Bowl II, and hopes to celebrate with the fans by sharing more than five hundred free tickets to watch a great collegiate football match-up," said Pete Langenhorst, regional divisional marketing manager for Pontiac-Buick-GMC in GM’s Western region. "With a host of great products to explore at Pontiac dealerships and the opportunity to pick up a pair of free tickets, it’s definitely a winning combination."

Tickets are available while supplies last at any of the 11 Albuquerque area dealerships, including: Friday Motors Buick-Pontiac-GMC (Taos), Henry Valencia Buick-Pontiac-GMC (Espanola), Performance Buick-Pontiac-GMC (Santa Fe), Performance Buick-Pontiac-GMC (Farmington), Pitre Buick-Pontiac-GMC (Albuquerque), Quality Motor Company (Las Vegas), Quality Pontiac-GMC-Buick (Albuquerque), Rico Motor Company (Gallup), Sunshine Buick-Pontiac-GMC (Albuquerque), Viva Motors BP (Socorro) and Whitehead Motors Buick-Pontiac-GMC (Truth or Consequences). Test drive participants must be 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license.

The Pontiac product portfolio available for test drives includes: the Vibe, Solstice roadster, G5 sports coupe, Torrent compact utility vehicle and the G6 family of sedans, coupes and retractable hardtop convertibles. For the 2008 model year, Pontiac expands its GXP performance series with the introduction of the G6 GXP and Torrent GXP, and will launch the all-new rear-wheel drive G8 performance sedan in early 2008. All fans attending the game will get a chance to see the new G6 GXP on display at the game.

New Mexico Bowl II will be played at University Stadium in Albuquerque on Saturday, December 22 with kickoff at 2:30 p.m. Mountain time. The game, featuring a team from the Mountain West Conference (New Mexico, 8-4) against a team from the Western Athletic Conference (Nevada, 6-6) will be televised nationally on ESPN and ESPN-HD.

The New Mexico Bowl is an ESPN Regional Television (ERT) owned and operated event. The Bowl is a certified college football bowl game owned and operated by ESPN Regional television. ERT markets and owns four other bowl games – the Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl, Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl, Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl and the Bowl.
