New Mexico Trout will hold its 27th Annual Conclave, Saturday November 22nd at Sandia Preparatory School, 532 Osuna NE. The event will be held from 8:00AM to 5:00 PM and will feature recognized experts that fish some of the most famous bodies of water found in the Mountain West, and new this year, Salt Water in Mexico.
Jay Murakoshi has been in the fly fishing business for over 30 years and is an expert fly-tyer. Jay ties commercially and also has had his flies featured in numerous fishing magazines and trade publications. He is an expert guide and outfitter for fishing in Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. Van Beacham grew up fishing on the Pecos River in northern New Mexico and has grown his passion to become one of New Mexico’s most successful fishing outfitters. Van’s Solitary Angler in Taos NM, offers exclusive trips on New Mexico’s and southern Colorado’s premiere trout water. His wildly successful Flyfisher’s Guide to New Mexico has recently been updated with new material. Last but certainly not least, is Baker Salsbury. Baker is from Jackson Hole Wyoming, where he owns and operates Westbank Anglers. He is an expert fly-tyer and guide on the fabled waters of Jackson Hole Wyoming. His talk is entitled “Ain’t Life Grand - Fishing in Jackson Hole and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.”

In addition to the three main presenters, Bill Frangos of New Mexico Trout will be teaching Fly Fishing Knots. There will be thousands of dollars worth of fly fishing equipment and guided fly fishing excursions that will be raffled off both in a live auction and in a silent auction format. In addition, Ti Piper, from NM Game and Fish will be showing his travelling Aquatic Vertebrae demonstration.
