The discount travel site unveiled their fall 2012 Where To Go Now & How Guide today, featuring Albuquerque as one of its “Top Five Destinations for an Awesome Autumn.”

Back in March, the Duke City was recognized as one of Hotwire.com’s “Top 10 Value Cities in the U.S.” touting the city as “the epicenter of Southwestern culture.” This new ranking puts the city in the company of both domestic and international fall destinations including Amsterdam, London, Quebec and San Diego.

"It's been a great year for Albuquerque with recognition from a variety of national media outlets, especially for fall travel, and we're thrilled to be highlighted by Hotwire once again," said Dale Lockett, President/CEO of the Visit Albuquerque.

So why is Albuquerque such an ideal destination for fall months? Hotwire.com credits pleasant temperatures, outdoor activity options, the city’s culture and low prices. It also highlights the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, Historic Old Town and the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway.

In addition to this ranking, Albuquerque has recently been showcased as a Top U.S. Destination in October by Reuters and a Top 10 In-Demand October Getaway by CheapFlights.com. National Geographic also recently named the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta as one of their Best Fall Trips for 2012.
