ABQ Trolley Co: The Pinon Express

All aboooooard! Join ABQ Trolley Co. and the New Mexico Steam Locomotive & Railroad Historical Society for a magical evening on The Piñon Express. Board the Trolley at Hotel Albuquerque and sit back and enjoy a video reading of Chris Van Allsburg’s classic book, The Polar Express, as we transport you from Old Town Albuquerque to the North Pole Depot. Guests will disembark the Trolley at the home of a massive 120' long steam locomotive! Children will visit and take photos with Santa Claus on the AT&SF’s steam locomotive Number 2926. They will also enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus, holiday magic performed by Jack Frost, and learn about the giant locomotive from Santa’s engineers as they ready it for Christmas Eve. Hot cocoa and cookies from Rude Boy Cookies round out this holiday experience.

Children (and parents) are encouraged to come in pajamas and don’t forget your camera; you’ll want to capture the memories of your time with Santa. Professional photography from Liz Lopez Photography will also be available. We have also teamed up with All Faiths on this magical journey. We will be collecting "warm fuzzies" (knit hats, gloves, scarves, etc. for children infant to 17) and toiletries for New Mexico families in need this holiday season.

Space is limited to 34 seats per tour. December evenings in Albuquerque are quite brisk; please dress for 30 degree weather as we will be riding in an open sleigh, er Trolley (blankets, long underwear, mittens, knit caps, wool socks, etc. will be necessary).
